Uganda Crested Cranes attacker Joanitah Ainembabazi has joined India women’s league (top-flight) entity Kickstart Football club.
Ainembabazi joins the Karnataka city based club as a free agent on a short-term deal.
The development follows the expiration of her employment contract at Tanzania women premier league outfit Simba Queens football club.
“I am ready to play gallantly for my new club with passion and commitment” Ainembabazi remarked moments before departure at Entebbe International Airport on Thursday, 23rd January 2025.

Ainembabazi left Entebbe International Airport aboard Ethiopian Airlines via Addis Ababa to Bengaluru city at Kempegowda International Airport.
The sharp diligent forward has also previously played at another Tanzanian top-flight side, Ceasaa Queens, scoring seven goals in eight matches during the 2022 season.
Ainembabazi first played at Fort Portal based Tooro Queens during her maiden season of top flight football, crossing to Rines women football and Nakawa based She Corporate women football club.
Ainembabazi has played for Uganda Crested Cranes at the WAFCON finals and for the She Corporate at the CECAFA zone CAF Women Champions League, falling to Simba Queens in the finals.
Besides her unquestionable work ethic, Ainembabazi is blessed with sublime close ball control, Ainembabazi is a good dribbler, an avid passer of the ball and shoots from all ranges.
She is represented by the fast growing Livingstone Sports Agency.

At Kickstart, she swings into the business end of the season with an away contest against Sreebhumi on Monday, 27th January 2025, coming at a time when they lost to East Bengal (0-2) last Friday.
Kickstart women football club was founded on 9th July 2016; co-owned by Shekar Rajan and Laxman Bhattarai.
They are currently coached by Langam Chaoba Devi.
