Baker Mbowa began his Mbale Heroes career on a sour note after falling 3-2 to lower league side Simba (Uganda Wildlife Authority) in the Stanbic Uganda Cup round of 64.
The 1999 cup winners became the first premier league side to be ejected from the competition despite Edgar Katumba’s brace.
Patrick Oyet, Umar Katumba and Kenneth Ssebaduka scored for the hosts who advanced to the round of 32 of the 2024/25 competition.
