The Uganda Cycling Association (UCA) in conjunction with the Moonlight events joined hands together to organize the events in the year 2025.
The grueling events will compose of domestic and international competitions from February to December.
A domestic cycling in Uganda
Uganda Cycling Association president Sam Mahaba Muwonge is humbled by the opportunity to partner with Moonlight events for better organization of the events for the next three years.
“Uganda Cycling Association came up with the resolution to partner with Moonlight events to organize a number of local and international competitions. We shall be able to coordinate with all the 32 clubs to have successful events” Muwonge remarked flanked by the vice chairperson John Richard Sseninde.

Moonlight Events directors Tonny Katamba and Ismail Ssebayiga are hopeful that with the right cooperation with the stakeholders, the events will be a success.
“We are glad that the Uganda Cycling Association granted us the opportunity to organize events on their behalf. We shall further involve the different stakeholders to necessitate the best events ever” Ssebayiga remarked.

Local competitions:
The first event of the year will be the Road race covering 87.5 KM on 23rd February 2025.
March 30th has the time trial competition for 18 KM.
The team time trial for 18 KM will happen on 13th April.
On the international Labour Day (1st May 2025) shall have the Labour day race covering 105 KM.
28th May 2025 will have the Pearl of Africa Cycling Tour covering a total distance of 512 KM.
June 1st will be the day for the Martyrs day race will covers 100KM.
Cyclists during a past event
The national championships will be on 22nd June 2025 for 120 KM.
29th June will have the Central region bike study competition.
The bike study for Eastern region will happen on 14th September 2025 whilst the one for Northern region shall come on 19th October 2025.
On 19th November 2025, there will be the Environmental road race for 120 KM and the Cycle Uganda 2 day’s race will come on 28th December 2025 for 200KM.
International competitions:
On 26th July 2025 will be the SCODA Tour Mauritius that will be followed by the Tour of Mauritius in August.
The UCI World Championships will happen between 21st to 28th September 2025 in Kigali city, Rwanda.
This is the first time that Uganda Cycling Association will be handing over competitions to an events company.
